The Copper Clad Steel Conductor is the cost effective replacement of solid copper conductor. With the increasing price of copper, the copper theft is on the rise which is now enforcing the users to implement alternatives for utility applications. It is a highly reliable, non-rusting and efficient grounding conductor which provides a long lasting, low impedance path to the earth. It is less suscepible to theft because it is a bimetallic product and does not have the high scrap value like that of solid copper. These conductors eliminate the possibility of damage/ lightning currents to the ground. These conditions eliminate the possibility of damage from lightning strikes or short-circuit conditions which rapidly dissipate the surge current/lightning current to the ground. It can withstand more mechanical abuses and is less prone to vibration-induced fatigue than solid copper or aluminium wire.


The Copper Clas Steel Grounding Conductor is made up of steel with the coating of 99.99% pure copper. These conductors/wires or strands are equipped with the strength of steel with the conductivity and better corrosion resistance property of copper. The concentric copper cladding is metallurgically bonded to a steel core through a continuous, solid cladding process using pressure rolling for primary bonding.


It will be available in 3%, 6% and 10% coating thickness as per technical specifications. We use different steel grades for the steel core result in Dead Soft Annealed, High strength and Extra High Strength characteristics. The copper clad steel wire yield a composite conductivity of 21%, 30% and 40% lACS, and available in Annealed and Hard drawn. Further, the wire can be processed to be silver plated or tinned copper clad steel wire steel.
